Use a purchase-first outfit, not a permanent wardrobe

A digital wardrobe can be useful when you want to catalogue everything you own. It is unnecessary when the immediate question is “will this burgundy top work with these charcoal trousers and these white shoes?” Save only the exact candidates for that decision.

This keeps the work small and makes the result easier to audit. Private Try-On does not search stores, recommend products automatically or import an entire closet. You choose the pieces and remain responsible for the purchase.

1. Start with an anchor item and a real occasion

Write down where the outfit needs to work: everyday shopping, work, an interview, dinner or another specific event. Choose the product you are most interested in as the anchor. Then add only the pieces required to answer whether that anchor can become a complete look.

If you cannot name the occasion or the pieces you would wear with it, the product may be an isolated attraction rather than a useful purchase.

2. Build one complete candidate

For most comparisons, a top, bottoms and shoes are enough. Add outerwear or a bag only if it materially changes the decision. Do not start with ten alternatives: compare one complete candidate, identify the weak piece, then replace only that piece in a later generation if needed.

Each generation uses the applicable allowance. A second attempt is a new model output, not proof that the later outfit is objectively better.

3. Save the exact products—not generic substitutes

• Save the colour and variant you may actually buy.
• Keep the full neckline, hem, trouser shape and shoe silhouette visible.
• Crop store buttons, prices, arrows and promotional badges.
• Use one product per image and upload it in the matching role.
• Keep the retailer page open so you can return to the original details.

4. Preview the combination, then inspect what changed

Add a person reference you own or have permission to use, followed by the separate product images. Read the generated image first as a whole-outfit direction: colour balance, proportions and visual weight. Then compare the neckline, print, silhouette, shoes and small details with the source images.

The model can change a face, body, pose, background, logo, print or garment detail. If an important feature changed, do not use the preview as evidence for that feature.

5. Make the buying decision outside the generated image

Return to every retailer page. Check the size chart, garment measurements, material, care instructions, price, delivery estimate and return policy. A convincing preview does not prove that a garment will fit, drape or arrive as pictured.

Use the preview to reject an obviously disconnected combination or to decide which candidate deserves closer product research. Do not use it as the final purchase authority.
